What should I know about the divorce process?
In order to file for divorce, one or both parties must have resided in Arizona for the past 90 days prior to the filing. If you have children then the divorce action must be filed in the “home state” of the minor child. “Home State” is defined as the state where the minor child has resided for at least 6 months prior to the filing of the divorce. More considerations will apply if the minor child has not been present in Arizona state for at least 6 months. Click the button below to learn more about the divorce process.
Why should I mediate my divorce?
Mediation rather than litigation has countless benefits. For starters, there is a flat fee involved in divorce mediation whereas in litigation you are normally paying for many hours of court filings and appearances, as well as a larger down payment.
Divorce mediation also provides a more logical approach to divorce. You will meet with a neutral mediator to resolve all divorce related issues that range from court filings to child custody agreements. A divorce is stressful enough, there’s no need to have unnecessary costs and arguments involved.
